I'm a creative at heart and am very fortunate to be working in an environment where I am constantly inspired by new businesses and new projects.
I genuinely love my work. I'm not sure how many people can say that about their jobs but I am so passionate about the work we do at Flourish, the clients we work with and the way we're constantly stretched and rewarded in the business.
I'm probably a bit of a serial entrepreneur. Having launched many a project myself I love the thrill of a new venture and often find myself getting very wrapped up in some of our larger client projects! The branding, the marketing, the design and all those little details that bring a brand to life.
And it's infectious - at Flourish we're all passionate about our area of expertise - whether that's typography, colour psychology or web development. I'm delighted with where the business is right now. We have some really interesting projects on the go and the business is growing at a healthy pace. The team are flourishing, the business is flourishing, it's a great place to be.
Some of the things that keep me busy...
As you may have guessed by now, I thrive on new challenges. And during our six years in business I certainly haven't been short of new projects.
I've launched and grown our successful printing.com franchise; the acclaimed Grow Your Business event which we co-founded and marketed, a local village networking group, the Horsley Network and a joint Customer Greenhouse project. I'm sure there will be plenty more ideas in the pipeline as the years progress.
My first book, Exhibit: The SME's guide to using exhibitions to grow your business was published in September 2009 and when I get five minutes I'll finish that branding book that's desperate for some attention on my desk. The books are both very much in the spirit of my workshops and speaking style - practical, down to earth and inspirational.
And the things that inspire me most...
Like many of our clients, starting a family was the catalyst for setting up my business in 2005. Having left a successful corporate career behind me with a major international franchise I started my own business to search for a better work-life balance and return to some of the things I loved doing.
My family are a constant source of inspiration. We now have two children - currently two and seven who are both rewarding and exhausting in almost equal measure. We live in a lovely cottage in the Surrey Hills and are both passionate about creating a lovely home where we can welcome friends and family. Keep your eyes peeled for my new personal blog... Its coming very soon, I promise!
