When it comes to promoting yourself, good design really can make a big difference to how your company is perceived. It can evoke, promote and inspire. It can command attention, send the reader off into a fantasy (no, not THAT sort) and motivate them to buy.
Great design starts with a clear brief. Quite simply, the more information you can provide your designer with, the better the output.
So where do you start? However obvious, think about the basics. What do you do, who are your clients and why do they buy from you? How does your target market behave: what brands do they buy into, where do they shop? What are their hopes, fears and aspirations? How in tune is your current artwork with that?
Moving onto the specific piece of artwork. What response do you want to provoke and what image are you trying to portray? Try to think about the benefits of your company over your competitors. What do you really want to get across? How effectively do you currently communicate that?
Thinking about these sorts of questions beforehand can really make a difference to your design. Happy thinking!
