Marvellous Monthly Marketing Tips has a new home!

Regular blog readers will have noticed that I went a little quiet on my blog from the middle of December. And yes, the Christmas festivities did have a lot to do with that. But the truth is that I’d been meaning to move my blog across to Wordpress from Typepad for a while, and December seemed like the perfect opportunity to do that. And afterall, what else does a mum of two, business owner and domestic goddess have to do in December? Why not redesign your blog at the same time??

I started blogging on Typepad almost three years ago at the recommendation of Karen Skidmore. And very happy I was there too. Typepad is a great tool to get started with. It’s user friendly and has some great features. But I started to become jealous of the design customisations that seemed oh-so-easy in Wordpress (how wrong I was!) and I felt that I’d taken my Typepad blog as far as I could in terms of design. So in the interests of research I experimented with Wordpress. And after a few frustrating evenings, and a lot of support from some friendly Wordpress gurus (thanks Zoe, Wibbler and Ben!) I started to quite like Wordpress. So much so that I’ve already moved my Workshops website over here and will be building the flourish website on the same platform.

So here is the new Marvellous Monthly Marketing Tips/ Flourish Blog. I’m still slightly undecided about what to call it. Which I know sounds dreadful for a marketing person, but I think now is a great time to move across to something with less of a mouthful. Although I love the alliteration and the identity of the Marvellous Monthly Marketing Tips! So we shall see… The banner may well change, but the essence will be the same.

And of course, just as I move, Typepad up their game with all sorts of google plugins and fancy gizmos. But I am well and truly a Wordpress convert now…
