In the studio this week… An exhibition stand for photographer Matt Pereira at the National Wedding Show

February 23, 2010

An exhausted Matt Pereira has just returned from the three day National Wedding Show at London’s Olympia, and as we helped him plan, design and style his stand, I couldn’t resist sharing the gorgeous photos with you.
Matt has exhibited at the National Wedding Show for several years now, and has always had a professional looking [...]

Mood boards: great for sparking your creativity, streamlining thoughts and communicating to others

February 22, 2010

I’m mood-board tastic at the moment! It all started when Bernay Laity asked us to each prepare mood boards for our Colour Psychology accreditation. We all had a lot of fun cutting, sticking and mounting textures and images that represented our personalities. And as we presented our “selves” to eachother we learned a lot.

Mood boards [...]

Client news… Run to Live awarded small business of the year!

February 20, 2010

I get a lot of satisfaction from working with business startups. There’s something so rewarding about creating an entire brand from scratch and working with the business owner as they take their baby from concept to substantial “proper business” territory. And the idealism and enthusiasm that comes as standard with most entrepreneurs looking to set [...]

Website, blog or blogsite – which is right for you?

February 19, 2010

I’ve had quite a few conversations this week with business owners confused about whether they need a blogsite, a website or a blog – or a combination of the two! And it can get pretty confusing – everyone you speak to has a different opinion, and here are my views.
By blogsite I mean a mixture of [...]

In the studio this week… a brand identity for Root or Berry

February 18, 2010

“This week” might be stretching things a bit, we designed this gorgeous logo for cafe, Root or Berry several months ago, and with the Flourish rebrand I’ve just been too busy to blog about it. But I love the logo and identity and so I couldn’t not share it with you!
Root or Berry is a [...]

In the Studio this week… A striking postcard for an Accountant

February 14, 2010

I realise that a lot of the client designs I’ve posted on this blog recently have been quite pink. We do like to use other colours as well! And here’s an example of a postcard we copywrote, branded and designed for local accountant JM Solutions. What do you think?

I love the bold strapline, the smart stripes and the photo that while clearly in an office based, is still fresh and appealing.

The back picks up on the lime green stripe from the front and I love the subtle ‘files’ that Chloe’s created below [...]

Does the writing on your website sell? Or does it just describe you?

February 5, 2010

When your potential clients look at your website what do they see? An engaging and inspiring paragraph about how you can solve their problem? Or reams and reams of text about your business, how long you’ve been trading and why they should use you.
Writing powerful copy is always underestimated. Why? Because we all feel that [...]

The Flourish website is live

January 31, 2010

Yesterday morning I hit the “go” button on the website. I took down the holding page, took a deep breath and launched the Flourish website.
After more than six months developing the brand: from selecting a name (that’s another story for another day) to developing the logo, choosing colours and rolling out the corporate identity, the [...]

In the studio this week… A gorgeous new blog for Matt Pereira

January 31, 2010

Da dah! I’m really chuffed to be able to show you the new designs for Guildford based photographer Matt Pereira’s new blogsite.
We first worked with Matt about 18 months ago when we printed some stationery for him. He seemed to like us…
“It makes a real difference to come across a company / service where you [...]

How effective is your marketing?

January 28, 2010

How’s your marketing going this year? Granted the false start with the snow has slowed us all down a week or two. But how are things going in general? Do you have a robust plan for your marketing this year? Or are you relying on recommendations and social media? To have a robust marketing plan [...]
